Ensoniq's PARIS Gains ADAT Interface

ENSONIQ (www.paris.ensoniq.com) has started shipping the ADI-01 - ADAT Digital Interface - for the PARIS Modular Expansion Chassis, (Interface MEC). The new ADAT MEC Module allows PARIS users to transfer digital audio to and from ADAT recorders easily, as well as providing complete transport control. The Modular Expansion Chassis (Interface MEC), which comes standard with all PARIS 3 bundles, is a 5 space rackmount unit, with the ability to accept up to 9 expansion modules. The ADI -01 interface supports the fibre-optic based Alesis Multichannel Optical protocol which has become an industry standard. Two Optical Digital connectors, one for signal input and one for output, allows for sample-synchronous digital transfer of up to 8 channels of audio data to and from a chain of up to 16 ADAT recorders. Up to 8 tracks may be transferred at once from any single ADAT in the chain. A 9-pin D-type connector provides synchronized remote control of up to 16 ADAT recorders. PARIS owners running a MEC Interface with the ADI MEC Module and version 1.55 software will have access to the new ADAT Interface Window. This window provides control over signal routing, and arming of ADAT tracks, as well as synchronization and transport control.
