Post Musical Instruments (PMI) has released two new sample libraries, capturing a carillon and a pair of clavichords, formatted for use with a number of different software samplers. PMI Carillion is a sample library bringing a huge Dutch carillon to life from a personal computer. The original instrument has 58 bells, starting from Bb and spans 4 octaves. All bells have been sampled in 24-bit sound quality. PMI Clavichord brings 2 very realistic clavichord sample sets: a small clavichord after an anonymous German instrument dating from c. 1650 (Compass C/E - c3, double strung in brass) and a large clavichord after Johann Heinrich Silbermann, Strasbourg, dating from 1775 (Unfretted 5 octaves, compass FF - f3, Double strung in brass, spun strings in bass octave). The clavichords have been sampled with their release sounds, giving them a realistic quality. Beside plain patches, some special dynamic filtered patches are supplied that allow a more subtle dynamic sound when played soft. PMI Clavichord is an addition to PMI's Historic Keyboards collection, which features 2 harpsichords, a virginal and a fortepiano. Supported sampler formats: GigaStudio 3, GigaStudio 2, Kontakt 1.5 and Kontakt 2, Halion 2 and Halion 3, EXS24 and EXSP, VSampler, Mach5, Reason and all Soundfont2 - compatible sample players.
