Sonic Studio Ships POW-r Plug-in for HD

Sonic Studio LLC is now shipping their POW-r word length reduction plug-in for the HD workstation. The new plug-in adds up to eight channels of realtime POW-r to the Sonic Studio HD professional editing and mastering environment. POW-r can also be placed inline for real-time 1x or 2x burns to CD master. "We're happy to offer POW-r word length reduction as our first official Sonic Studio HD plug-in." said Jeff Wilson, CEO of Sonic Studio, LLC, "Our users have made repeated requests for the addition of this powerful algorithm." "This is great news for the Sonic Studio mastering community," said Glenn Zelniker, member of the POW-r consortium, "we hope this flexible new implementation of POW-r will make it much easier to incorporate our unique brand of word length reduction into their production workflow." POW-r is priced at $1,495 and is available from Sonic Studio authorized resellers. Sonic Studio HD owners may try the POW-r plug-in free of charge by visiting the company's web site. POW-r is a technique for digital audio Word Length Reduction (WLR). It replaces more common dither algorithms. POW-r is used to convert 24-bit audio to 16-bit audio for CDs.
