ART has announced two new preamp systems: The Tube Preamp System (TPS) and DI/O Preamp System (DPS), which adds digital outputs.

The two units have much in common, including twin high performance discrete preamplifiers with local feedback, and are coupled with ART’s proprietary Variable Valve Voicing (V3) 12AX7A gain stage. The new enhanced mic pre-amp can accept +20dB peaks while maintaining over 120dB dynamic range and low distortion.

Also featured in both units is the ART OPL Output Protection Limiter, which is available to control overshoots and normalize levels before digital clipping occurs.

Unique to its’ class, the unit provides level monitoring via two analog meters. High-Z instruments or balanced microphone signals are input through front and rear panel jacks.

Enhancements to the tube stage maintain the classic "warm sound" and add additional tube voicings specifically tailored to voice, guitar, bass, and acoustic instruments making this a flexible microphone preamplifier and DI box.

The TPS and DPS differ when it comes to outputs however. The DPS offers a versatile insert loop on each channel providing access for additional signal processing or direct access to the A/D converter. Separate gain controls on analog and digital outputs allow you to optimize the unit for simultaneous applications.

Digital outputs on the DPS include S/PDIF, TOSLINK or ADAT (front panel selectable). The A/D is front panel adjustable from 44.1 to 96K or syncs to ADAT or external word clock (32KHZ to 100KHz). You can patch into any ADAT stream and select which pair (or ALL) of channels the DIO Preamp System transmits.

The retail price of the Tube Preamp System is $219.
