PRESS RELEASE
Mocean Worker To Demo His Reason Techniques In July
June 29, 2006
Advertisement Propellerhead Software today announce that acclaimed artist/producer Mocean Worker will be in four European cities this July to demonstrate how he uses Reason for composition and remixing. If you are anywhere close to these locations, you don't want to miss seeing his unique way of using Reason, not to mention his entertaining and enthusiastic approach. The Artist: Adam Dorn – aka Mocean Worker – has a story to tell. Adam began working as an assistant to bassist/producer Marcus Miller (Miles Davis, Luther Vandross, EU). He has compiled and produced dozens of jazz and R&B reissues. His credits as a musician include collaborations with Bill Frissell, Hal Willner, Brian Eno and more. His father is none other than legendary producer Joel Dorn (Roberta Flack, John Coltrane, Leon Redbone). Under the Mocean Worker moniker, he has released three albums of genre-defying electronic music: Home Movies from the Brain Forest (1998); Mixed Emotional Features (1999); and Aural & Hearty (2000). Where Mocean Worker wanted to go musically on his latest full length release, Enter The MoWo!, was a realm where elements of jazz, funk and electronic music co-exist in a lively, refreshing fashion. The result is an album that truly merits descriptors like "sophisticated" and "playful" more than just another Cole Porter revival. Through the marvels of modern technology, Mocean Worker orchestrates a virtual flute battle between the legendary Rahsaan Roland Kirk and Franck Gauthier of French rock band Rinôçérôse ("Shamma Lamma Ding Dong"). He recasts a classic Nina Simone vocal over a bed of rippling piano and atmospheric beats ("Blackbird"). The Dates: Switzerland: Italy: UK: Recent Propellerhead headlines
