The new RP-7 Valve is DigiTech's latest tube-driven guitar preamp, and multi-effects processor for the floor. Incorporating a single 12AX7 tube, the RP-7 Valve provides four flexible tube voicings-from clean to distorted-never before available in a floor-based processor of its price range. In addition to the four tube voicings are four solid state distortion settings, giving guitarists a broad palette of preamp tones. At the heart of the RP-7 Valve's digital effects section is the award-winning S-DISC II(TM) processor. This chip affords the RP-7 Valve the same studio-quality effects that DigiTech utilizes in its higher-end guitar and studio rack processors, including Whammy(TM) and Intelligent Pitch Shifting, which actually allows the user to create two-voice harmonies of single note lines in any key and scale. The RP-7 Valve features a Jam-a-Long(TM) jack on its rear panel, allowing guitarists to patch in a CD or cassette player and play along with their favorite artists. An on-board expression pedal also offers them real-time control of their volume and other effects parameters. Whether used for live performance or studio recording, at the suggested U.S. retail price of $399.95, the RP-7 Valve represents one of the market's best values in a floor-based guitar preamp and multi-effects processor.
