Ibanez Announces New Transcription Tool

January 18, 1998

With their half-speed and bass enhance features, Ibanez Rock and Player cassette players have been one of the most popular systems for guitarists and basses to learn licks and phrases from recordings. The newest Rock and Play, the RP500, not only features 1/2 speed playback, it also records. "Now players can record material at lessons and rehearsals for later learning as well as jam along with prerecorded tapes," commented Paul Specht of Ibanez on the new Rock and Play RP500. Specht continued that all the new Rock and Plays, the RP300 for guitar, the RP302 for bass, as well as the new recording model offer improved fidelity and longer battery life.

All Rock and Plays feature onboard effects, pitch control and headphones. Both the RP500 and the RP300 have 1/2 speed for slowing down fast or hard to learn phrases. The RP302 for bass has a bass enhance feature which brings out bass lines.

The RP500 Recording lists for $159.95. The RP300 for Guitar lists for $124.95. The RP302 for bass lists for $124.95.
