Mackie Updates DB8 OS and Options

Mackie Designs Inc. (Nasdaq:MKIE), today announced the release of Mackie Real Time OS Version 2.0 operating system software for the Digital 8-Bus (D8B). New features include a graphic automation editor that allows you to view and edit all automation functions over time. Also new is the Fat Channel - an equalizer (four types), gate, and compressor in one window for easy viewing and access to parameters. In addition, the Company introduced two significant new hardware options and a free hardware upgrade. The new options are the PDI-8 audio interface card, and the Apogee Low Jitter Clock I/O card. The upgrade is the 24-Bit EPROM for the DIO-8 card. These new features combine to make the D8B one of the most powerful digital consoles available. "The new Apogee Low Jitter Clock I/O card and PDI-8 card are critical for optimum performance in audio post production," commented Roy Wemyss, Chief Operating Officer. "The post-production market already has embraced the use of digital mixing technology, and we believe these additions will enhance the appeal of this product to those users. As with any software-driven audio product, the D8B will continue to be upgraded with time. Version 2.0 adds features to the D8B that allow the product to reach a wider audience. This upgrade is available to all D8B owners at no charge and is downloadable from the Mackie web site."
