Reverend Introduces Manta Ray 290 Electric Guitar
July 02, 2008
Advertisement Reverend has introduced the Manta Ray 290 guitar in Plain Top version. Along with a plain maple top, new features include block inlays, neck binding, and Reverend Pin-Lock tuners. This jazz/blues/rock guitar produces the response and acoustic richness of a classic full size semi-hollow, but with a slightly smaller and slimmer body. The bridge pickup is slightly hotter than a vintage P-90, and the neck pickup slightly cleaner for balanced tone and output. The versatile Bass Contour control can imitate Fender-style pickups, allowing the guitar to go from rock crunch to clean twang. Solid wood construction is featured throughout, with no veneer or plywood. The back, sides and center block are produced from one slab of korina which is routed from the top, and then capped with a solid maple top. Sustain and attack are enhanced, and coupled with substantial resonance for a lively and responsive tone. Options: Wine Red, Tobacco Burst.
