The new SRS Studio Reference Series Monitor from Carvin is their top-of-the-line near-field monitor. The SRS is transparently flat over a wide frequency range (50Hz-20kHz) and is accurate and detailed in its reproduction of critical material.

Drawing on new and time proven technologies, Carvin selected and matched the 6.5" woofer, high frequency driver and crossover components giving a power input capacity of 125 watts. They then computer designed a tuned box that’s finished with DuraTex. It completely seals the enclosure against air leaks and is practically bullet-proof. If these babies fall off the back of your console, you just pick them up and keep tracking. And of course, it’s completely shielded for use near computer monitors.

What appears to be a simple switch on the front panel actually gives you, in essence, a second pair of speakers. In the "Flat" position, the SRS is a near-field monitors for tracking and mixing down with pinpoint accuracy. In the "Contour" position, you suddenly have the ability to hear what your material sounds like on your stereo HiFi speakers without having to buy another pair of speakers.
