SoundTech has announced that three new portable PA systems will be available for NAMM 2005 in Indianapolis, Indiana. The first is called the Voyager IV System; the second is the Unity System, and lastly the SpotMix System. The Voyager IV System features a self-contained molded case with four wheels and extendable handle that works similar to a carry-on piece of luggage. Included in the Voyager IV package are two speaker stands, two microphones, two microphone cables, and two speaker cables. It has a five-channel powered mixer with 80 watts RMS at 4 ohms per channel. Each channel includes its own bass, treble, and reverb controls with sealed potentiometer, and the faders are 60mm faders. This system is equipped with two, 10" 2-way speaker cabinets. The mixer features 12 built in digital effects and a 5-band equalizer with LEDs to help find and eliminate feedback. The Voyager IV retails for $600. The SpotMix by SoundTech is an 8-channel mixer with two 10" 2-way speakers each rated at 200 watts. This mixer has four mono inputs, each has a low-cut switch, +48Vphantom power, 3-band EQ, monitor level, effects level, pan control, peak indicator, and a level control. The two stereo inputs have the same features as the mono inputs minus the lo-cut. The mixer has balanced 1/4" outputs for the left out, right out, monitor out, and left and right control room out. There are left and right 1/4" effect insert jacks for the main outputs, a RCA tape in and out, a 1/4" effect send jack, and stereo 1/4" effects return jacks. The back of the speakers are equipped with an XLR input and parallel XLR output so that a number of speakers can be linked together. Included on the mixer is a gain control for the input, along with a 3-band EQ and speaker volume control. An automatic amplitude servo system (A.A.S.S.) is integrated to reduce overdriving of the speaker. The SpotMix system is a lightweight package and retails for $700. The new Unity by SoundTech is a powerful portable audio system. This stereo system comes with a powered mixer, two 8" 2-way speakers, three stands, two 1/4" speaker cables, and a padded travel bag with casters on the bottom and an easy extension handle. The mixer features 50 watts a side at 4 ohms and 14 built in digital effects. Each input within the mixer has a high and low EQ control, monitor output level, internal effect level, and level control. The mixer also includes a 7-band EQ with LEDs for visual assistance in feedback location. There is a 1/4" monitor that may be fed to a powered speaker. Also, integrated into this new system are line level 1/4" outputs on the front for the left and right signal, which can be used to feed another PA system, as well as, 1/4" effect insert jack for outboard effects. The Unity System retails for $ 750. For more information, visit their web site at http://www.soundtech.com/.Recent SoundTech headlines
