CreamWare presents the STS-4000, a professional software sampler for PC and Mac. This is made possible by perfect integration of host software with Pulsar's DSP hardware, which is responsible for professional performance and high-resolution timing.

With a latency of only 1-2 ms, the Pulsar sampler outmatches conventional software solutions and has better timing than many hardware samplers. As with all of Pulsar's instruments, the STS-4000 can be played just like a "real" hardware instrument. Therefore the sampler can also be used in "live" situations. Of course the STS-4000 seamlessly integrates with the Pulsar setup, so that samples can easily be routed through DSP effects or even Modular synths.

Further features include:

  • Stereo sampling with up to 24 bit & 96 kHz, resampling function
  • Import/export: AKAI S1000 & S3000, Soundfont, WAV, AIFF
  • Save, load and organize sample libraries on the PC's hard disk
  • Comprehensive editor for sample-accurate editing, with insert-chain for DirectX effects
  • Keygroup editing, velocity-switch, velocity-crossfade
  • Filter with resonance
  • Multi mode with 16 programs
  • Stereo out + 16 individual outputs
  • Polyphony depends on the host CPU (>20 stereo voices with PII 400)

The STS-4000 will be available at the end of November. It can be obtained via local CreamWare dealers and via CreamWare's new interactive service area at www.creamware.com (on-line end of November). The suggested retail price is US$ 398. As a special introductory offer for all Pulsar users, STS-4000 retails for only US$ 198 until December 31, 1999.
