Sonic Studio announced availability of the CD.1, a professional CDR imaging device with matched media optimized specifically for music mastering. The CD.1 is the result of a cooperative effort between STARTlab, Nistec Corp., and Sonic Studio, LLC. The new drive features a customized TEAC 512 in a fortified and shock-mounted rack enclosure. Drive mods include an upgraded quartz crystal oscillator instead of the standard ceramic and a laser tuned for use with a specially formulated, Sonic Studio-branded Taiyo Yuden media. While custom configured for Sonic Studio, CD.1 works fine with any Teac 512 SCSI-compatible workstation. "Our customers have long been searching for a reliable alternative to their aging Sony 900E drives." said Jayson Tomlin, Director of Business Development for Sonic Studio, "By joining forces with START Lab, the originator of the recordable CD, and Nistec, innovators in enclosure and loading hardware, we were able to tailor a system precisely to our workstation's requirements." The CD.1 is now available worldwide from authorized Sonic Studio dealers and resellers. For more information, visit their web site at http://www.sonicstudio.com/.Recent Sonic Studio headlines
