Sonic Virus was created especially for use in dance projects, be it Techno, Pop, Dance, Jungle, or Hip-Hop, and may also prove suitable for many other styles. Over 2,500 + MB in raw audio was recorded in GenieSys' studio or synthesized in Rat's Sound Kitchen, all distilled down to a 72 MB SoundFont Bank. Inside Sonic Virus you will find 652 instruments and 30 drum sets, arranged in 5 internal banks:
Sonic Virus allows several drum sets to be played simultaneously. The collection has also been organized to achieve maximum compatibility not only with a GM MIDI-format, but also with new GM2 and with Yamaha XG formats. A SonicVirus.ini file is also included for Cakewalk SONAR, allowing you to see the names of all the instruments within SONAR. In September, 2002 GenieSys plans to release of a double musical CD Sonic Virus++ featuring work created with the SoundFont collection. The disk will be distributed in USA, Canada, Russia, Germany, and France, and you might be able to get your personal composition on it provided that all instruments featured are those found in the Sonic Virus SoundFont Bank.
