June 14, 2003

Puresound's new "Speedball" bass drum beater features a unique, self-adjusting beater assembly that automatically swivels to adapt its flat impact surface to any playing angle. This design offers reliable, solid contact between the beater surface and the bass drum head on every stroke. Made of a specially formulated hardened plastic, the "Speedball" beater is available in a choice of three surfaces: plastic (#SBDP for a sharp attack), rubber (#SBDR for a bit more punch), and felt (#SBDF for more of a traditional, rounder bass drum tone). The beater is mounted on a hardened stainless steel shaft that has been developed to survive even the most intense playing applications. A matching blue counterweight, which is also included, allows drummers to further customize the "feel" of the beater's throw. The new Speedball beaters carry a suggested retail price of $32.95 and are available at drum shops. Recent Puresound Percussion headlines
