Square Circle Releases Mobius Sampler Editor

Square Circle announced the release of its new loop and sample editor, Mobius, today. Priced at $99, Mobius can be ordered online at the Square Circle website (www.squarecircle.co.uk). Existing WaveSurgeon customers can upgrade at a special price of $29 or $49 from the Advanced and Basic versions respectively until the end of May.

Building on the foundations of the award winning WaveSurgeon, Mobius takes the loop editor a stage further by combining it with a full sample editor to provide a unique processing solution. Mobius can therefore be used not only to process samples, but also to automatically chop and map them across the keyboard, and generate an accompanying midi-timing file.

Features include:

A full range of editing tools (cut / copy / paste, etc), coupled to direct to disk playback and recording.
Full Compatibility with DirectX and VST plugins for 24-bit audio processing
Comprehensive support for a wide range of formats, including SoundFont,GigaSampler, Pinnacle, and DLS.
Batch mapping of files over SCSI, allowing users to easily transfer entire sample catalogues to their samplers
CD extraction, either directly to Mobius for editing or to disk
Support for a wide range of samplers, including Akai S2000 / S3000XL/ S3200XL, E-mu EOS, and Yamaha A3000 (A4000/A5000 to come)
Auto update feature, to keep up with the latest releases.

All these features make Mobius suitable for a wide number of tasks, including basic editing, automatically picking out slices from loops, replacing single drum sounds with others, the creation of new loops or fills, and overlaying loops which would otherwise be at a different tempo. Of course, Mobius isn't limited to drumloops; it can be used on any sample as a straightforward editing package.
