Roland has released the Version 1.50 operating system update for the V-Synth synthesizer. The update offers a new sub-oscillator for analog modeled oscillators, new analog-modeling waveforms taken from the D-50 synthesizer and a COSM filter model of the TB-303 Bass Line. Version 1.50 provides 18 new PCM waveforms, which can be manipulated with Roland's VariPhrase technology for realtime and independent control of a sample's pitch, time and formant characteristics. The update also offers the filter of the legendary Roland TB-303, allowing V-Synth users to create sounds with the distinctive characteristics that have made the -303 a cult classic. In addition to the waveforms and new filter Version 1.5 offers additional feature enhancements including a Patch Category Search function, a Clean Project function for improved data management, and an improved Patch Zone window. Details and MP3 samples are available at www.v-synth.com. You will need a USB-capable computer to perform this update. Recent Roland headlines
