The plug-ins were created by Vincent Burel in France, and are aimed at high-end applications where sound quality is the overriding concern. The VB Pack 1 contains a reverb, and EQ, a compressor/limiter, and an effects rack.

The Aphro-V1 reverb is different from other reverbs in that it gives extraordinary flexibility in adjusting the parameters. The number of controls may seem overwhelming at first, but often make it possible to get the reverb sound “just right” when other reverbs can’t.

The C-Limiter compressor/limiter can do really heavy compression and maintain a clean signal.

The EQpro-G3 has a smooth warm sound like an analog console, and has high- and low-pass filters, a bandpass filter, a parametric filter with variable Q, and high- and low-shelving filters with variable slope.

The FX-16 Rack lets you drag-and-drop DirectX effects into a rack list, and to save racks of effects. The rack also makes it easy to change the order of the effects - - for instance, does the EQ sound better before the compressor or after? With the FX-16, a simple move with the mouse can change the order of the effects.

A demo of the Vincent Burel effects are availble for download on the Minnetonka website at www.minnetonkaaudio.com.

Price is $599.
