FXpansion Audio has announced the availability of
the third generation of VST to DirectX plug-in adapters. This latest
version adds several important new features, and offers significant
improvements to ease of use.
New features include:
- DXi support: Users of Cakewalk's new SONAR platform will be pleased to
hear that the new adapter offers full support for the DXi system, allowing
VST Instruments to be used seamlessly and transparently as DXi Instruments,
with no added latency or loss of timing accuracy.
-
Total integration: The v3.0 adapters allow you to install VST plug-ins
directly in to your applications' DirectX menus, without any intermediate
control panel. The VST plug-ins now behave as if they were DX in every
respect.
-
Improved automation: Microsoft's new DX8.0 automation spec is fully
supported, allowing sample-accurate automation of all plug-in parameters in
suitably enabled host applications. Automation and realtime control from an
external MIDI control surface (PC1600, Drehbank, PhatBoy, Control Freak
etc.) is also supported.
-
Improved preset management: imports and exports Cubase-compatible plug-in
preset files, allowing full compatibility with additional soundbanks made
available by the plug-in manufacturers and others.
VST-DX Adapter 3.0 costs just $60.00 / Eu60.00 / UKP40.00 / DM117, and is
available direct from FXpansion's web site. A Lite
version, without DXi or automation support, but suitable for older DX
applications, is also available.
